Man Critical After Shooting Near Van Wyck Expressway

QUEENS, NY – A man is fighting for his life after being shot in the head early Sunday morning along the Van Wyck Expressway service road in Queens.

Midnight Shooting Near 104th Street

New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault around 1:00 a.m. near 104th Street and the Van Wyck Expressway service road.

Upon arrival, officers were directed down the road toward 106th Street, where emergency medical services (EMS) located the unidentified male victim suffering from a severe gunshot wound to the head.

Suspects Flee On Scooter

The victim was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where medical staff confirmed he remains in critical condition.

According to preliminary police reports, two male suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting on a scooter. Investigators have not yet released a detailed description of the suspects or their direction of flight.

Investigation Ongoing

No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting has not been established. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses along the service road to trace the suspects’ escape route.
