11-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized After McDonald's Crossfire Shooting

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – An 11-year-old girl is fighting to recover in the hospital after she and her father were caught in the crossfire of a shooting outside a local McDonald’s over the weekend.

Caught in the Crossfire

The incident occurred on Saturday when Dora Belen Rivera was sitting in an SUV with her father and two younger siblings, aged 2 and 5. According to Hallandale Beach police, the family was waiting in the vehicle while the children’s mother went inside the restaurant.

Investigators state that 18-year-old Ralph N-Kosi Blue, an employee arriving for his shift at the fast-food establishment, opened fire on an individual running toward him. The family was not the intended target of the altercation.

Severe Injuries and Recovery

Dora was struck in the head during the gunfire. Doctors have made the medical decision to leave the bullet inside her head, warning that attempting to remove it could cause further, severe harm.

Her father, Oscar Roman Miron, sustained a gunshot wound to the hip and has since been released from the hospital. The two younger children miraculously escaped physical injury but remain shaken by the traumatic event.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Police quickly apprehended Blue following the shooting. He currently faces multiple felony charges, including:

  • Two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
  • Two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill

The local community has rallied around the family, with first responders visiting Dora in the hospital to show their support as the family shifts their full focus toward her long-term recovery and emotional healing.
