VENICE, CA – Los Angeles Police are searching for a “dangerous” suspect following a terrifying stabbing involving a 16-inch sword on Thursday evening in Venice.
The Incident
The attack occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Rose Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the victim was struck with a “sword-type knife” measuring over a foot long.
The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital. While his current medical status has not been confirmed, the severity of the weapon has residents on high alert.
Suspect Identified
Authorities have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Justin Tucker. A safety flyer distributed to local residents identifies Tucker as a resident of a building in the immediate area. The flyer warns that he is considered armed and dangerous and advises the public not to approach him under any circumstances.
