EVERMAN, TX – A massive multi-agency search at the former home of missing 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez concluded Wednesday afternoon after investigators were seen loading a heavy, tarp-covered object into a van bound for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Forensic Excavation At Wisteria Drive
For three days, the FBI, Tarrant County Medical Examiner, and local police focused their efforts on the backyard of a home in the 3700 block of Wisteria Drive. This is the same residence where Noel and his family lived before he vanished more than three years ago.
On Wednesday afternoon, crews concentrated their digging in a specific area of the yard that was shielded from public view by tents. At approximately 4:30 p.m., a white van was backed up to the site, and several officials were seen lifting a large blue tarp into the vehicle before it was driven away.
Police Chief Addresses The Search
Everman Police Chief Al Brooks confirmed that the search appears to have “wrapped up.” While officials have not yet confirmed what was found in the dirt, Chief Brooks stated that more information is expected to be released on Thursday.
“It’s reliving a nightmare for us,” Chief Brooks said, emphasizing that the goal remains seeking justice for the young boy. He noted that the return to the property was part of “making sure there is no stone left unturned” in the ongoing investigation.
Background On The Case
Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was first reported missing in March 2023, though authorities later determined he had not been seen alive since October 2022.
- Capital Murder Charges: Noel’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, has been charged with capital murder in connection with his presumed death.
- Current Status: A recent psychiatric evaluation indicated that Singh is currently incompetent to stand trial.
Current Residents Displaced
The home’s current residents, who were moved to a hotel on Monday to allow for the forensic work, were permitted to return Wednesday evening as the excavation wound down. Neighbors reported hearing heavy machinery, including backhoes and chainsaws, throughout the week as investigators dug deep into the property’s backyard.
