Elderly Woman Killed In Santa Ana Pedestrian Crash

SANTA ANA, CA – A 78-year-old local woman has died from her injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a Santa Ana residential neighborhood, authorities confirmed.

The Fatal Collision

The incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10. Santa Ana police officers responded to emergency calls near the intersection of Keller Avenue and Marine Street.

Investigators determined that the pedestrian, identified as Sara Torres, 78, of Santa Ana, was crossing the street when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Responding officers found Torres lying in the roadway with significant, life-threatening injuries.

Driver Cooperating With Police

Torres was rushed to a local hospital by emergency medical personnel. Despite life-saving efforts, she succumbed to her injuries the following day, Thursday, June 11.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement. Authorities have stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, though the exact circumstances are still being analyzed.
