Baltimore, Maryland — After several rounds of rain, storms and humid conditions earlier this week, much more pleasant weather is finally moving into Maryland and the surrounding Mid-Atlantic region just in time for the weekend.
Forecasters say residents across central Maryland, the Baltimore metro area and the Eastern Shore can expect drier air, sunshine and more comfortable temperatures over the next several days.
Stormy Weather Finally Moves Out of Maryland
The worst of the wet weather has now cleared out of the region after soaking parts of Maryland with rain and storms earlier in the week.
According to the latest forecast, Thursday morning will begin with lingering cloud cover, patchy fog and areas of drizzle. However, conditions are expected to improve steadily throughout the day.
Meteorologists say gusty northwest winds will increase during the afternoon hours, helping push out the remaining humidity and bringing in noticeably drier air.
As skies gradually clear, temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s, creating much more comfortable conditions compared to the recent muggy weather pattern.
Sunshine and Lower Humidity Return
Forecasters say the biggest weather improvement will be the drop in humidity levels heading into late Thursday and the weekend.
The combination of drier air, sunshine and mild temperatures is expected to create ideal outdoor conditions across much of Maryland.
Residents planning outdoor activities, travel or community events later this week should experience a major improvement compared to the unsettled Memorial Day Weekend weather.
The calmer conditions are also expected to bring cooler mornings and more comfortable evenings across the state.
Weekend Forecast Looks Pleasant Across Mid-Atlantic
Weather officials say Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all shaping up to be mostly dry and seasonable throughout Maryland and much of the Mid-Atlantic region.
The forecast calls for a mix of sunshine and clouds each day with low humidity remaining in place through the weekend.
Temperatures during the mornings are expected to fall into the 50s, while afternoon highs will stay mainly in the 70s, providing a refreshing break from hotter and more humid conditions.
The pleasant stretch of weather is expected to benefit beaches, parks, sporting events and other outdoor gatherings planned across the region.
Cooler Mornings Expected This Weekend
Saturday and Sunday mornings may feel especially refreshing compared to recent weather patterns.
Forecasters say the cooler overnight temperatures combined with lower humidity levels will make conditions feel crisp and comfortable for late spring across Maryland.

The improved weather pattern could also provide a welcome break for residents who dealt with heavy rain, storm threats and muggy air during the holiday weekend.
Rain Chances Could Return Next Week
While the weekend forecast remains mostly favorable, meteorologists are already tracking another possible shift in weather early next week.
The next chance for wetter weather is currently expected to arrive around Monday as moisture begins moving back into the region.
At this time, forecasters say rain chances appear limited through the weekend before conditions potentially become more unsettled again at the start of the new workweek.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the stretch of dry and comfortable weather while it lasts.
