America’s Favorite Snack Just Got a Patriotic Makeover for the Nation’s 250th Birthday

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — America’s 250th birthday celebration is already inspiring a wave of patriotic food and drink releases, and one popular snack brand is leading the charge with a star-spangled redesign of a stadium favorite.

Superpretzel announced it is introducing a special star-shaped pretzel as part of the nationwide America 250 festivities, giving its iconic snack a patriotic makeover ahead of the historic anniversary.

Superpretzel Launches Star-Shaped Snack

The company said the new pretzels are designed in the shape of “America’s most iconic symbol” and are intended to bring families together during the celebration season.

According to the brand, the product is meant to feel festive from start to finish.

“America’s 250th is a celebration people will remember for years to come, and we wanted to create something simple, fun, and shareable for families to enjoy together,” said Lynwood Mallard, chief marketing officer at J&J Snack Foods.

The limited-edition pretzels will officially launch on Memorial Day and remain available through September.

Consumers will be able to find them at sports stadiums, movie theaters, amusement parks and grocery stores across the country.

Snack Tied to America’s Historic Roots

Superpretzel emphasized that the snack’s production location adds an extra layer of patriotic significance to the release.

The company noted the pretzels are made in the Philadelphia area, connecting the product directly to the birthplace of American independence.

“Each star-shaped pretzel is produced in the Philadelphia area, where the nation’s founding began. This regional heritage makes the Star Pretzel more than a seasonal novelty. It is a snack with history baked in, coming straight from the heart of ‘Pretzel Country.’”

The company also highlighted the convenience of the product, saying the pretzels are “freezer-to-oven ready in minutes” and taste especially crisp when prepared in an air fryer.

Major Brands Joining America 250 Celebration

Superpretzel is far from the only company embracing patriotic branding ahead of America’s milestone birthday.

Several heritage food and beverage companies have announced limited-edition products inspired by the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Meanwhile, Pillsbury is launching Funfetti Stars & Stripes baking products featuring patriotic cake mixes and colorful frostings.

Cheerios is joining the celebration with a birthday cake-flavored cereal packaged in commemorative red, white and blue boxes.

Perhaps one of the boldest rebrands comes from Mountain Dew, which temporarily transformed itself into “American Dew” complete with stars-and-stripes-themed packaging.

Oreo Unveils Firecracker Pop Flavor

Even Oreo is embracing the patriotic trend with the launch of its new Firecracker Pop Oreo cookie.

Created in partnership with Popsicle, the cookie features a red, white and blue crème made with blue raspberry, lemon and cherry flavors sandwiched between golden Oreo cookies.
