Armed Suspect Flees After Robbing Cumberland County Convenience Store

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities are searching for an armed suspect following a robbery at a Cumberland County convenience store Friday evening, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery occurred at approximately 6:10 p.m. at the Marathon convenience store located at 489 West Ave. Deputies say a male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money before fleeing the scene.

According to investigators, the suspect was described as wearing a tan Carhart-style hooded jacket, dark brown pants, and a black mask with a black hat. After the robbery, the suspect reportedly fled the store on foot, heading in an unknown direction.

Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with officers from the Crossville Police Department. Law enforcement secured the area and began canvassing nearby streets and businesses in an attempt to locate the suspect.

Authorities have not released details regarding the amount of money taken or whether any injuries were reported during the incident. No arrests have been announced as of this time.

The Crossville Police Department confirmed that the investigation remains active. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the store and surrounding businesses as part of their ongoing efforts to identify the suspect.
