Communities Mourn Three Forsyth County Students Killed in Fiery Florida Spring Break Crash

CUMMING, GA — A tragic spring break trip has turned into a nightmare for the North Georgia community. Authorities have officially identified three Forsyth County students who lost their lives in a horrific, fiery car accident in the Florida Panhandle on Monday.

The victims, all students at Horizon Christian Academy in Cumming, were traveling to St. George Island to visit friends and family when their vehicle veered off the road.

The Victims Identified

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (Florida) released the names of the three young lives lost in the wreck:

  • Jackson Mobley, 18, of Cumming
  • Jaylyn Fehr, 17, of Cumming
  • Charlotte Martin, 16, of Cumming

A fourth passenger, 17-year-old Jamison Mobley of Alpharetta, was pulled from the wreckage by courageous “Good Samaritans” who stopped to help as the vehicle became engulfed in flames. She was airlifted to a Tallahassee hospital, where she remains in stable but serious condition.

Details of the “Unimaginable Loss”

According to the Florida Highway Patrol and local sheriff’s deputies, the teenagers were traveling along Highway 65 in Franklin County on Monday afternoon. For reasons still under investigation, their Jeep left the roadway and struck several trees before catching fire.

The Sheriff’s Office issued a heartbreaking statement, describing the victims as “wonderful young individuals” who were talented athletes and exceptional students. The impact of their loss is being felt deeply across two states.

“Jackson, Jaylyn, and Charlotte were deeply loved by their families, teammates, and church communities,” the Sheriff’s Office shared. “The grief being experienced in Georgia is deeply felt here in Franklin County as well. When a life is lost in our community, no matter where someone calls home, we feel that loss together.”

A Long Road to Recovery

While the community mourns the three deceased students, prayers are being heavily focused on Jamison Mobley. Not only is she facing a grueling physical recovery, but officials noted she must also navigate the emotional trauma of losing her brother, Jackson, and her two close friends in the same incident.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office praised the bystanders whose “selflessness and bravery” saved Jamison’s life, preventing an even larger tragedy.

How the Community is Honoring the Teens

In Florida, the Sheriff’s Office is placing three crosses at the crash site on Highway 65 to serve as a memorial. Back home in Forsyth County, the Horizon Christian Academy community is rallying to support the grieving families.

How You Can Help: A GoFundMe account has been established for the family of Jaylyn Fehr, a junior at the academy, to help cover travel and funeral expenses. Local prayer vigils are also expected to be held as students return from spring break to a campus that will look very different.

Officials have not yet confirmed what caused the Jeep to leave the road, and the investigation remains active.
