DALLAS, Texas — Dallas police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday night while officers were responding to reports of an armed individual allegedly threatening people in a residential area.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the 4300 block of Woodhollow Drive after receiving multiple calls about a suspect who was reportedly armed and acting aggressively. When officers arrived and attempted to make contact, an encounter took place that resulted in at least one suspect being shot.
Police confirmed that no officers were injured during the incident. The condition of the suspect who was shot has not been released, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether the individual was taken into custody at the scene or transported to a hospital for treatment.
Emergency crews and additional law enforcement units were sent to the area as a precaution, and portions of the neighborhood were temporarily secured while officers conducted their initial investigation. Residents nearby reported a visible police presence following the shooting.
