FBI Most Wanted Fugitive Extradited Back To United States

CHICAGO, IL – A Mexican man who spent over a decade on the run after allegedly murdering his wife on their wedding night has been successfully extradited back to the United States, the FBI announced Thursday.

The Capture and Extradition

Arnoldo Jimenez was brought back to U.S. soil more than a year after his initial capture in Monterrey, Mexico. Mexican authorities, working in close coordination with U.S. law enforcement, apprehended Jimenez on January 30, 2025.

Jimenez had long been a fixture on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. At the time of his arrest in his native country, he was ranked as the fourth-most wanted fugitive in the United States.

A Decade-Long Hunt For Justice

The brutal incident took place in Illinois, where authorities allege Jimenez killed his bride just hours after their wedding before fleeing across the border. He managed to evade law enforcement for more than 11 years.

“Our personnel have successfully brought back FBI Most Wanted fugitive Arnoldo Jimenez from Mexico,” the FBI Chicago Field Office stated. “No matter how much time has passed or where a criminal may be in the world, the FBI will never stop in our pursuit of justice.”

Next Steps In Court

Federal and local authorities have not yet disclosed the specific motive behind the killing. Additionally, an official date for Jimenez’s first scheduled court appearance in Illinois has not been made public. He remains in federal custody.
