Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Random Stabbing In Culver City

CULVER CITY, CA – A 45-year-old man is in custody following what authorities describe as an unprovoked stabbing of a motorcyclist in Culver City on Sunday evening.

The Attack at Sepulveda and Slauson

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. near the busy intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Slauson Avenue. According to the Culver City Police Department, a motorcyclist was stopped at a red light when a man approached him without warning.

Police say the suspect stabbed the motorcyclist before quickly fleeing the scene on foot.

Victim Condition and Arrest

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, officials confirmed that the injuries sustained in the attack are non-life-threatening.

Following a brief search of the surrounding area, officers located and apprehended the suspect on Jefferson Boulevard. The individual has been identified as Maurice Williams, 45.

Legal Charges and Investigation

Williams was booked into the Culver City Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Detectives are still investigating the motive behind the attack, though all evidence currently suggests it was an unprovoked encounter.
