WILMINGTON, DE – The body of a 27-year-old New Jersey man who vanished in late February has been discovered by a visitor at Fox Point State Park in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Discovery
Delaware State Police troopers were dispatched to the park on Lighthouse Road around 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026. A park visitor had alerted authorities after stumbling upon a severely decomposed body.
Medical examiners later identified the deceased as Lizandro Guizar Sartiaguin, a resident of Hammonton, New Jersey.
Months-Long Missing Person Case
Sartiaguin had been the subject of an ongoing search operation since he was officially reported missing on February 27. His sudden disappearance had left family members and Hammonton local police searching for answers for nearly two months.
How his body ended up at the Delaware state park, which sits along the Delaware River, remains a critical piece of the investigation.
Investigation Underway
State detectives have not yet determined the exact cause or manner of death. The Delaware State Police have launched a full investigation to rule out foul play.
