Twin 10-Year-Old Boys Found Dead In Los Angeles Apartment

LOS ANGELES, CA – Twin 10-year-old boys and their father were found dead Sunday evening inside a Los Angeles apartment in what authorities are investigating as a tragic murder-suicide.

The Incident

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to an apartment building on Owensmouth Avenue around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, following reports of a shooting.

Upon entering the residence, officers discovered three individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Victims Identified

The LAPD has identified the two young victims as Joseph and Greysen Chavez, twin brothers.

The suspect has been identified by police as the boys’ 37-year-old father. Authorities stated that the father’s official identity is being withheld pending full notification of next of kin.

Investigation and Community Reaction

The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division, Special Section, has taken over the case. While the motive remains unclear, investigators are currently treating the incident strictly as a murder-suicide.

The tragedy has left neighbors in the apartment complex shocked and grieving. Speaking with local media outlets, one resident expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that the children never had a chance to live their lives and questioning why the father did not seek help if he was struggling.
