Mission Statement

Pointer Media, the student news source of Mineral Point High School, was created and intends to accurately and reliably report on events in our school and the area, that are of interest to its readers, which includes the student body and the community.  News is reported through a variety of mediums to provide timely, accurate updates.

Opinion Articles

Opinions expressed in editorials are those of the writer(s).  The topic of the publication is completely the opinion of the writer(s) and may not necessarily be the opinion of Pointer Media’s advisors, Pointer Media’s staff, or Mineral Point’s staff and administrators. All Opinion pieces have been reviewed and approved by Pointer Media staff before publication.

Comment Policy

Pointer Media values the opinion of its readers and encourages them to discuss its content.

Comments containing profane, threatening, or disrespectful language will not be published and will be reported to the administration.

Comments can be taken down by Pointer Media staff if necessary.

All threats are taken seriously. If we are worried about someone’s safety, the comment and related identifying information will be passed along.

All comments written from the school network are subject to the school’s Policies.

All comments require approval by Pointer Media staff. Comments are reviewed as often as possible.

Pointer Media does not allow anonymous comments and requires a valid email address. The email address will not be displayed but will be used to confirm your comments.

Pointer Media welcomes strong opinions and criticism of our reporters’ work. However, personal attacks on reporters will not be published.

If you feel strongly that something was reported poorly, or strongly disagree with an opinion, we encourage you to submit a full article or commentary on the subject. Editorials can be submitted through the contact tab on pointermedia.org

The views expressed in comments are solely the authors’ and do not reflect the views of Pointer Media, advertisers/sponsors, or Mineral Point Schools.

Errors

Grammatical and factual errors will be corrected in a timely fashion as soon as they are detected. If you find an error, please let the reporter know by commenting on the story or emailing the reporter.  Errors will be corrected as soon as possible.
