PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman in connection with a preplanned fight that left another woman dead in North Philadelphia on Monday.
Fatal Attack on West Lehigh Avenue
The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Monday on the 1300 block of West Lehigh Avenue. Authorities state that 28-year-old Sariah Conover suffered multiple stab wounds during a physical altercation.
Conover was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries at approximately 1:28 a.m. on Tuesday.
Preplanned Fight Captured on Social Media
Investigators revealed that the deadly confrontation was preplanned and stemmed from a domestic dispute. The suspect, identified as Zayahshay Davis, is the mother of Conover’s ex-boyfriend’s child. A separate, related fight also took place involving Conover’s brother and the ex-boyfriend.
The entire incident was captured on cellphone videos that rapidly spread across Instagram and other social media platforms. Philadelphia Police detectives are actively reviewing the online footage as part of the ongoing homicide investigation.
Suspect History and Arrest
Davis was arrested on Wednesday, June 24, near the intersection of 12th and Huntingdon streets. At the time of the stabbing, she was already out on probation linked to a Westmoreland County case, where she pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges. Additionally, she was facing pending retail theft and conspiracy charges in Philadelphia.
Davis was transported to Homicide Headquarters, where she remains in police custody.
