Laredo, Texas – A routine traffic stop in Laredo led to the arrest of a woman wanted on multiple serious felony charges, including murder and aggravated robbery, authorities confirmed Monday.
According to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on January 5 at the intersection of Cedar Street and Mier Street. During the stop, deputies ran a records check on the vehicle’s occupants, which revealed that one passenger had several active felony warrants.
Arrest Made During Routine Traffic Stop
Deputies identified the suspect as 41-year-old Deborah Uresti. Records showed that Uresti was wanted on outstanding warrants for murder, aggravated robbery, and possession of a controlled substance.
Once the warrants were confirmed, deputies took Uresti into custody at the scene without incident. She was then transported to the Webb County Jail for booking.
Details of the Active Felony Warrants
Jail records indicate that the warrants for Uresti were issued by both the 406th District Court and the 49th District Court. The charges include:
- First-degree felony murder
- First-degree felony aggravated robbery
- Third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance
Authorities noted that the murder charge lists an offense date of October 5, 2024, while the aggravated robbery charge is tied to an offense date of October 8, 2024.
Separate Drug Charge from 2023
In addition to the violent felony charges, Uresti also faces a separate possession of a controlled substance charge, with an offense date listed as November 16, 2023, according to jail documentation.
Investigators did not release further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged offenses or whether additional suspects may be involved.
Held Without Bond
Following her arrest, Uresti was formally booked into the Webb County Jail. As of Monday evening, jail records showed that she remained held without bond due to the severity of the charges.
Officials emphasized that traffic stops often uncover individuals with outstanding warrants, highlighting the importance of routine patrol operations in maintaining public safety.
