NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA – A dangerous high-speed pursuit ended in North Hollywood after two suspects surrendered to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The Chase Begins
The pursuit initiated near Sylmar when LAPD officers attempted to stop a vehicle. Authorities stated the driver was a known gang member and was believed to be armed.
As the chase sped through Pacoima, a passenger abruptly jumped out of the moving vehicle. It is currently unclear if officers were able to apprehend that individual immediately.
Speeds Reach 120 MPH
The driver continued to flee southbound on the 5 Freeway, reaching extreme speeds of up to 120 mph while driving with the vehicle’s headlights turned completely off.
The suspect eventually exited the freeway and tore through the city streets of North Hollywood, maintaining speeds of over 80 mph and showing total disregard for public safety.
The Surrender
