A quiet Beverly neighborhood was shaken Saturday morning after an armed intruder forced their way into a home, tied up a resident, assaulted them, and stole a vehicle before fleeing the scene.
According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 9 a.m. on Paine Avenue. Police were alerted after a neighbor reported suspicious activity and a possible break-in in progress. Officers responded immediately and began investigating what quickly developed into a serious armed home invasion case.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect entered the residence while armed and confronted the individual inside. The victim was restrained and physically assaulted during the incident. Investigators believe several personal belongings were taken from the home, including a vehicle that was used by the suspect to escape.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed that the injuries were not life-threatening, and the individual has since been released. Authorities have not disclosed the victim’s identity and have not confirmed whether the individual is the homeowner. Investigators noted that no one else was inside the residence at the time of the break-in.
Law enforcement later recovered the stolen vehicle, though details about its location and condition have not been made public. As of now, no arrests have been announced.
Both local and state authorities are actively working on the case, reviewing evidence and following leads to identify the suspect. Investigators are also examining whether the incident was random or targeted. At this stage, officials have not determined whether there is an ongoing threat to the broader community.
Residents in the area have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Police are expected to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
