CHICAGO, IL – A 24-year-old man was hospitalized Monday night after being stabbed during a confrontation in Chicago’s Grant Park, according to local authorities.
Violence Near South Loop Skate Park
The incident occurred in the 1100-block of South Michigan Avenue. Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers responded to the South Loop area, where investigators were seen focusing their efforts near the local skate park.
According to police, the victim was involved in an argument with a group of four individuals when the situation escalated, and one of them stabbed him in the back.
Victim in Stable Condition
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene. The victim managed to move to a nearby area before being treated by the Chicago Fire Department for a laceration.
He was subsequently transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he is reported to be in good condition.
Investigation Ongoing
As of Tuesday, no suspects are in custody. Area Three detectives are currently leading the investigation into the motives behind the dispute and the identities of the four individuals involved.
