Gunpoint Robbery Led to Deadly Darlington County Shooting, Arrest Warrants Reveal

A deadly shooting in Darlington County last November stemmed from an armed robbery in which the victim was held at gunpoint and shot multiple times, according to newly released arrest warrants.

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office announced that Shane Cox was charged Tuesday with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and criminal conspiracy in connection with the case.

Shooting reported on Nov. 10

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Nov. 10, 2025, in the area of Piano Road and South Charleston Road. When law enforcement arrived, Chandler Martin was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robbery alleged before shooting

According to arrest warrants, Cox and two other suspects — Patrell Jackson and Stargeria Jackson — allegedly worked together to rob the victim. Investigators say the suspects took the victim’s gun while holding him at gunpoint.

During the course of the armed robbery, the suspects allegedly shot the victim multiple times. The warrants state that witness statements were used as part of the evidence supporting the charges.

Both Patrell Jackson and Stargeria Jackson are also facing murder charges in connection with the case.

Fourth suspect arrested

The sheriff’s office confirmed Thursday that an unnamed 17-year-old was arrested at the scene on Nov. 10. The juvenile is charged with criminal conspiracy and accessory before the fact of a felony, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four.

Authorities said Cox is being charged as an adult due to the severity of the alleged crimes. His exact age has not yet been released.

Court proceedings ongoing

Cox is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Thursday afternoon. As of the latest update, Patrell Jackson and Stargeria Jackson remain booked at the Darlington County jail as the investigation and court proceedings continue.

The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the motive beyond what is outlined in the arrest warrants.
