MAINE TOWNSHIP, IL – Cook County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the discovery of a body in a pond located near an Illinois State Police (ISP) facility on Monday morning.
Discovery Near State Police Building
The incident was reported at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Monday, May 4. Deputies responded to reports of a body in a pond east of the intersection of Linda and Holly Lanes in unincorporated Maine Township.
The location is situated just south of a local Illinois State Police building.
Ongoing Identification Process
Emergency responders recovered the body of a male from the water. The individual was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, where officials are currently working to determine his identity and the cause of death.

As of now, investigators have stated the following:
