ALLENTOWN, PA – An 18-year-old man has died from his injuries following a shooting at a local McDonald’s over the weekend, authorities confirmed Monday.
The Incident
Allentown Police officers rushed to the McDonald’s located at 1321 Union Boulevard at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Friday, May 15, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews administered immediate first aid at the scene before Allentown EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital. The young man, reportedly a resident of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, May 18.
Second Victim Injured
The shooting also left a second individual injured. While that person was also transported for medical care, their current condition has not yet been released by medical staff or officials.
No Public Threat
The Allentown Police Detective Division, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office have launched a joint investigation.
While authorities have not yet identified a suspect or established a motive, the police department stated they do not believe there is an active threat to the general public at this time.
