Iowa Parents Held On $2 Million Bond For Kidnapping Child

DAVENPORT, IA – Two Davenport parents are behind bars on massive multi-million dollar bonds after authorities discovered their 10-year-old child severely malnourished and locked inside a home.

Severe Confinement And Alleged Torture

Andrew C. Warrington, 48, and Kellie J. Warrington, 47, were arrested following a disturbing investigation by local authorities. According to Scott County arrest affidavits, the couple “knowingly and secretly confined” the minor to a bare bedroom with no furniture for an extended period of time.

Court records state that the parents deprived the 10-year-old of food, water, light, and bathroom access. The severe lack of stimulation for long periods resulted in what investigators described as “both mental and physical torture.”

Concealment and Severe Injuries

The affidavits reveal the parents managed to hide the abuse from the community by pulling the child out of church activities and skipping all medical appointments.

When authorities finally intervened, the child was suffering from visible head injuries and extreme malnourishment. Officials noted that without immediate medical intervention, the victim “was at risk of death.” The minor was rushed to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for emergency treatment.

Facing Severe Charges

According to Scott County jail records, both Andrew and Kellie Warrington are facing a laundry list of serious charges:

  • First-Degree Kidnapping
  • Child Endangerment
  • Willful Injury
  • Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person

The couple is currently being held at the Scott County Jail on $2 million cash-only bonds each. A preliminary hearing for the case has been scheduled for June 16.
