CHESTER, PA – A large contingent of law enforcement officers flooded the area surrounding Widener University late Wednesday night, locking down multiple streets and drawing significant community concern.
Midnight Investigation Near Providence Avenue
The heavy police presence was concentrated near the Uno Pizzeria located on Providence Avenue in Delaware County. Aerial footage from the scene around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, showed dozens of emergency vehicles blocking off major intersections and access roads leading toward the campus.
Officers on the ground were observed using high-powered flashlights to meticulously search the streets, sidewalks, and surrounding properties.

Because the activity occurred directly adjacent to the Widener University perimeter, local residents and students reported a high degree of anxiety on social media.
