Loma Linda, California — A 4-year-old girl is fighting for her life after swallowing a small button battery, a common household item that caused severe internal injuries and left her in a medically induced coma.
The child, identified as Camila Romero, has been hospitalized for over two weeks as doctors work to stabilize her condition and plan further treatment.

Camila’s parents say they had no idea how dangerous button batteries could be or how their daughter came into contact with one.
“Something so small caused something so big,” her mother said.

“It burned a hole in her esophagus,” her mother explained.
