Family Speaks Out After Deadly Wrong-Way Crash in St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A devastating wrong-way crash late Friday night in Moline Acres has left two women dead and five others seriously injured, prompting an ongoing investigation and emotional responses from grieving family members.

Crash Happened Late Friday on Highway 367

The collision occurred just after 11 p.m. on southbound Highway 367 near Chambers Road in Moline Acres, an area within St. Louis County.

According to troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old man from Florissant was driving a 2016 Chrysler 300 northbound when he lost control of the vehicle. Investigators say the car crossed the solid yellow line and entered oncoming traffic at a high rate of speed.

Vehicles Collide Head-On

A 22-year-old woman from St. Louis, driving a 2015 Mazda 3 southbound, struck the Chrysler on the driver’s side. Authorities described the impact as catastrophic.

Kiára Brady, a 26-year-old passenger in the Chrysler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mazda later died from her injuries at a local hospital.

Four additional passengers — women aged 18, 21, 22, and 31 — were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The driver of the Chrysler sustained moderate injuries and is expected to recover.

Family Describes Pain and Frustration

Kiára’s mother, Asya Brady, said she was devastated to learn that her daughter’s body remained at the crash scene for hours before the family was notified.

“Come to find out she was never there. My daughter was still on the scene. I could’ve seen my baby, but they never told me anything,” Asya said.

She described Kiára as a loving and vibrant person whose presence lit up every room.

“She’s the life of the party. She loved people, she loved family, she loved to smile. She’s got a smile you’ll never forget,” she added.

Loved Ones Also Critically Hurt

Kiára was riding with her brother, who was driving the Chrysler, and her wife, Kaydedra Smalls-Brady. Smalls-Brady remains on life support as of the latest update.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help cover medical expenses and ongoing care for Smalls-Brady as she fights for recovery.

Family Extends Condolences to Other Victim

Kiára’s aunt, Keyshia Brady, spoke about the widespread impact of the loss.

“This is really hard on everybody that knew her, just because of the person that she was,” she said.

Asya Brady also shared sympathy for the family of the young woman who died in the Mazda.

“I send my condolences to that young lady’s family. I heard she just had a baby, and I’m so sorry for their loss,” she said.

Investigation Ongoing

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash reconstruction team continues to investigate what caused the Chrysler to lose control and cross into oncoming traffic. Authorities have not yet released information on possible contributing factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions.

Officials say additional findings will be released once the investigation is complete.
