FRANKLIN, MA – A 54-year-old Franklin man with an extensive criminal history was taken into custody Tuesday after leading police on a wild, multi-town pursuit that involved deflated tires, a water escape, and a massive regional manhunt.
The Pursuit Begins
The incident began just before 9:00 a.m. Tuesday on Pulaski Boulevard in Bellingham. A local police officer attempted to pull over a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Dominick Revell.
Revell, who has multiple active arrest warrants and a revoked driver’s license, refused to stop, sparking a high-speed chase that quickly crossed the town line into Franklin.
Spike Strips and a River Escape
As Franklin police joined the pursuit, officers successfully deployed tire-deflation “stop sticks” on Grove Street. Despite losing his passenger-side tires and striking several residential mailboxes, Revell continued driving toward the Medway town line before finally stopping on Pond Street.
The suspect then fled on foot, leading officers on a desperate chase where he:
- Jumped over a neighborhood fence.
- Swam across a small local river.
- Disappeared into a dense wooded area.
Massive K9 and Drone Search
Police heavily swarmed the Pond Street and Partridge Street areas, deploying regional K9 units and drone operators to establish a perimeter. A tracking dog led officers straight to a known residence on Partridge Street listed on Revell’s warrants, but a search of the home came up empty.
By 12:18 p.m., the neighborhood perimeter was cleared, and police later located and arrested Revell in Franklin Tuesday evening. He was transported to the Bellingham Police Department for processing.
Facing Heavy Charges
Both local departments are pursuing severe charges against Revell. The incoming warrants include:
- Failure to stop for police
- Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
- Operating after suspension
- Speeding and multiple additional motor vehicle violations
