‘How I Met Your Mother’ Actor Convicted After Brutal Attack on Ex-Girlfriend

San Fernando, California — Actor Nick Pasqual, known for appearing in the hit sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” has been convicted of attempted murder after prosecutors said he brutally stabbed his ex-girlfriend during a violent attack in 2024.

The verdict was delivered Friday by a jury in San Fernando, California, bringing a major development in a case that drew widespread attention due to the severity of the allegations and Pasqual’s television background.

Jury Convicts Actor on Multiple Charges

According to court records, the 36-year-old actor was found guilty of attempted murder in connection with the May 23, 2024 stabbing of his former girlfriend, Allie Shehorn.

In addition to the attempted murder conviction, the jury also found Pasqual guilty of:

  • First-degree residential burglary with person present
  • Injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent

Pasqual is now awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for June 2.

Victim Testified About Terrifying Attack

During the trial, Shehorn — a Hollywood makeup artist — took the witness stand and recounted the horrifying night of the attack while visibly bearing scars on her neck and arms.

“I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open,” she testified, according to ABC7.

“I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.”

Authorities previously stated that Shehorn had filed a restraining order against Pasqual only days before the attack allegedly took place inside her home in Sunland, California.

According to reports, Pasqual broke into the residence and stabbed her approximately 20 times.

Attack Left Victim Critically Injured

The violent assault left Shehorn with severe injuries to her throat, chest, wrists, and back.

She underwent 14 hours of surgery and spent multiple days recovering in the intensive care unit.

Following the attack, her friend Christine White discovered her critically wounded and attempted to help stop the bleeding before emergency responders arrived.

“I just told her to keep her hand on her throat to stop the bleeding,” White told The Los Angeles Times.

The case has highlighted the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the dangers victims may continue to face even after seeking legal protection.

Pasqual Previously Arrested Before Attack

Court records show Pasqual had already been arrested for domestic violence on May 18, 2024, just days before the stabbing incident.

Despite the arrest, he was later released after posting a $50,000 bond.

Shehorn’s friend, Jed Dornoff, later spoke publicly about the timing of the attack.

“as soon as he paid his bail, he came after her.”

The statement intensified criticism surrounding domestic violence cases and concerns over victim safety following suspect releases.

Actor Allegedly Tried to Flee After Incident

Following the stabbing, authorities alleged that Pasqual fled California in an apparent attempt to escape law enforcement.

He was later detained near the United States-Mexico border in Sierra Blanca, Texas, before being brought back to face charges.

The conviction now closes one chapter of the high-profile case, though sentencing still remains ahead.

For many following the case, the verdict represents accountability after a brutal attack that nearly turned fatal.
