MOREHEAD, KY – A multi-agency manhunt is currently active in Rowan County after two inmates, described by authorities as dangerous, escaped from the local detention center Friday evening.

The Morehead Police Department issued an urgent warning to the community after two men “walked away” from the Rowan County Detention Center. Kentucky State Police (KSP) has taken the lead in the investigation, with multiple local agencies assisting in the search.
Suspect Descriptions
Police have released the identities and descriptions of the two fugitives to help the public identify them from a safe distance:
- Michael Fogleman (29):
- Height/Weight: 6 feet tall, 188 pounds.
- Appearance: Short or closely shaved hair with a short beard along his jawline and chin.
- James Smallwood (52):
- Height/Weight: 6 feet 1 inch tall, approximately 215 pounds.
- Appearance: Medium to stocky build with gray facial hair around the mouth.
- Last Seen Wearing: White shirt, blue jeans, and possibly a hat.
