Masked Man and Woman Rob Business Near University Village Shopping Center, Police Say

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are investigating a robbery involving a masked man and woman who targeted a business near the University Village Shopping Center on Saturday evening, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Officers responded around 5 p.m. to the 5000 block of North Nevada Avenue after receiving a report of a robbery in progress. When police arrived, they learned that two suspects had entered a business and demanded money from an employee.

According to investigators, both suspects were wearing masks when they entered the store. The male suspect reportedly kept one hand inside his pocket in a manner that suggested he may have been armed, though no weapon was visibly displayed. Police said the man reached over the counter and grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the clerk.

After taking the money, the man and woman fled the business together on foot, heading away from the shopping center before officers arrived on scene.

Authorities confirmed that no employees or customers were injured during the incident. Police did not specify the type of business that was robbed or provide detailed descriptions of the suspects beyond noting that both were masked.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is continuing to investigate the robbery and is reviewing any available surveillance footage from nearby businesses in an effort to identify the suspects. At this time, no arrests have been announced.
