A shocking case out of Tennessee has left a family shaken after a young woman was accused of violently attacking an elderly relative inside her own home.
What Happened
According to authorities, 24-year-old Allanah Samples allegedly assaulted her grandfather’s wife using a bat, leaving the elderly woman seriously injured and bleeding on the floor.
Deputies responded to an emergency call on March 23 near Tennessee City, where they found the victim lying on the ground with visible head injuries. The situation quickly escalated into a serious criminal investigation.
Disturbing Details From the Scene
When officers arrived, Samples reportedly apologized repeatedly. However, she also claimed that the older woman — whom she referred to as “mommy” — had initiated the confrontation by coming after her with the bat.
But when questioned further, Samples admitted she had not actually been struck.
Authorities located the bat at the scene, and the victim told deputies that Samples hit her multiple times, including blows to the head and knees. Police say Samples later admitted to carrying out the attack.
Serious Charges Filed
Following the incident, Samples was taken into custody and booked at the Dickson County Jail.
She now faces multiple serious charges, including:
- Aggravated assault
- Abuse of an elderly person resulting in serious bodily injury
- Domestic assault
