Brazos County, Texas — Authorities are searching for a 53-year-old woman who vanished Wednesday afternoon, shortly before her pickup truck was discovered engulfed in flames in a rural area.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, Nicole “Nikki” Winder was last seen around 3 p.m. on February 25 in the 19000 block of FM 974 in Brazos County.
Just over an hour later, her white 2025 Chevy truck with black rims was found burning roughly two miles away.
Fire Believed to Be Intentional
Investigators say early findings indicate the vehicle fire was not accidental.
“Investigators believe the vehicle fire was the result of arson,” the sheriff’s office stated in a press release.
Authorities have not released additional details about potential suspects or what may have led to the fire. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
Search Focused on Critical Time Window
The sheriff’s office is urging residents in the surrounding rural area to review security camera or game camera footage recorded between 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on February 25.
Officials hope video evidence from that window could provide crucial leads about Winder’s disappearance or the vehicle fire.
