PHILADELPHIA, PA – A violent overnight shooting near a newly opened lounge in Philadelphia’s Fairhill neighborhood left two men dead and two others hospitalized early Sunday morning.
Violence Erupts Near New Lounge
Philadelphia Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, near the intersection of North 5th and Westmoreland streets.
Upon arrival, responding officers encountered a large, chaotic crowd and found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the shooting may be connected to the grand opening celebration of a new lounge located on the block.
Casualties and Crime Scene Details
Authorities confirmed that two men succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead. Two other male victims were transported to local hospitals and are currently expected to survive.
Police Captain Timothy Stephan described the area as a massive crime scene, noting that a significant amount of evidence was scattered across the highway.
- Ammunition: Investigators recovered 13 to 16 fired cartridge cases (FCCs) along with multiple live rounds.
- Ballistics: Multiple projectiles were found embedded in the surrounding area.
- Digital Evidence: Several cell phones were recovered from the street to help reconstruct the event.

No arrests have been made, and police have not yet released the identities of the victims or potential suspects. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses to identify those responsible.
