FONTAINEBLEAU, FL – Federal authorities are investigating after a brazen daylight mail theft was caught on camera at an apartment complex in the Fontainebleau neighborhood on Monday.

The Theft at Midway Gardens

According to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. at the Midway Gardens Apartments, located near Northwest 7th Street and Northwest 82nd Avenue.

Surveillance footage from the scene shows a white SUV pulling up to the mailboxes. A man is seen exiting the backseat, quickly opening the mailbox doors, and tossing stacks of envelopes into the vehicle before the driver speeds away.

Local residents expressed frustration following the incident, noting that this is not the first time mail theft has plagued this complex or the surrounding area. Many fear that sensitive personal information and financial documents may have been compromised in the heist.
