This past Saturday the Dodge-Point cross country team competed in the Darlington CC Invitational meet. There were several ranked teams attending the meet including Fennimore, Lancaster, and Iowa-Grant. The end result was the Dodge-Point girls varsity team, girls JV team, and boys JV team all taking first place; while the boys varsity team placed second out of 15 teams.

The girls’ varsity team continues to impress as the top 5 runners all medaled. The boys’ varsity team got second by only 7 points. Top runner was once again Layne Aurit with a time of 17:17 placing second overall. The rest of the scoring team finished somewhat close together with Cody Yoder placing 9th, Gabe Engel in 11th, Ethan Hook in 13th, and Parker Owens in 17th. Jesse Yoder pulled in 22nd with Alex LaMere in 34th. On the JV side, our very own Johnny Robinson won the overall JV race with a time of 20:28 also earning him a varsity spot in River Valley. Mac Busser ran an impressive race finishing 4th overall with a time of 21:44. Other JV runners for Dodge-Point included Rhett Spurley (6th), Chayse Helwig (15th), William Brainbridge (33rd), Carson Schroeder (34th), Elliot Hesseling (42nd), and Felix Wieczorek (66th).

This coming Saturday girls and boys teams will travel to River Valley competing against all 3 divisions. The course is a fan favorite; however, there are many races to be run with large schools and small schools being separated.
