Burglary Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Crash In Clackamas County

MILWAUKIE, OR – A pursuit ended in a dramatic rollover crash on Tuesday after a burglary suspect led deputies on a high-speed chase through local streets.

The Burglary Report

The incident began around 4 p.m. in the 17000 block of Southeast River Road. A homeowner alerted the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office after home security footage showed a man entering their garage and stealing multiple items.

Deputies identified the suspect as Scotty Nicholas Oldfield, who was seen fleeing the scene in a white Ford Explorer.

High-Speed Pursuit and Collision

A deputy spotted Oldfield’s vehicle on Southeast Roethe Road, but the suspect sped off, triggering a police pursuit. The chase came to a violent end near Southeast Oatfield Road and Southeast Park Avenue when Oldfield:

  • Crashed into an occupied vehicle.
  • Rolled his SUV.
  • Struck an unoccupied parked car.

The driver of the other vehicle involved declined medical treatment at the scene. Oldfield, however, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Stolen Items and Numerous Charges

Upon searching Oldfield’s wrecked SUV, deputies recovered suspected stolen property. Investigators also discovered that Oldfield had multiple outstanding warrants across Oregon and Washington.

Oldfield now faces a long list of charges, including:

  • Second-degree burglary and First-degree theft.
  • Attempting to elude a police officer and Reckless driving.
  • DUII and Identity theft.
  • Criminal mischief and Reckless endangerment.

Call for Additional Victims

Authorities believe Oldfield may have targeted other homes in the area. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about his activities to contact them immediately.
