‘It Was Terrifying’ Woman Critically Injured After Attack by 7 Dogs in Florida Neighborhood

Dade City, Florida — A woman was critically injured Friday after being attacked by multiple dogs in a Pasco County neighborhood, according to emergency officials.

Authorities say the attack occurred around 11 a.m. at a home on Fiesta Drive in Dade City, where a group of dogs reportedly turned on the victim in the front yard.

Emergency crews with Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital.

Officials confirmed the woman was airlifted by helicopter and remains in critical condition.

Attack Involved Seven Dogs

Investigators say the incident involved seven dogs, which were later taken into custody by Pasco County Animal Services.

Authorities placed the animals in quarantine as part of the investigation.

Officials have not yet released details about the breed of the dogs or whether the animals had previous incidents reported.

Neighbor Describes Frightening Scene

Neighbor Lourdes Estrada said she heard screaming coming from outside and rushed to see what was happening.

“It was terrifying. I was shocked and freaked out,” Estrada said. “I had never seen anything like that before.”

Estrada said she immediately called 911 after seeing the attack unfold.

According to her account, the victim was lying face-down while multiple dogs surrounded her.

“They were nipping and biting at her,” Estrada said. “He would get a group of them away and then the other group would come around the other side and start biting her.”

Owner Struggled to Pull Dogs Away

Witnesses say the man who lives at the property attempted to pull the dogs off the victim but struggled to separate them during the attack.

Neighbors said the chaotic scene lasted several moments before emergency responders arrived.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released by authorities.

Neighbors Previously Raised Concerns

Some residents in the neighborhood told reporters they had previously been concerned about the number of dogs at the property.

Neighbors claim that dozens of dogs had been seen at the home in the past, though officials have not confirmed those reports.

Estrada said she believes better care and supervision could have prevented the incident.

“If you have a lot of dogs, you need to have a bigger property,” she said. “Let them out more so they’re not inside all the time frustrated.”

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities say the circumstances leading up to the attack remain under investigation. Officials have not yet determined what may have triggered the dogs to attack.

The victim remains hospitalized while investigators continue gathering information about the case.
