A night that began as a house party ended in bloodshed early Sunday morning when a gunman opened fire inside a crowded home in Fallston, Maryland, leaving one man dead and another critically wounded, authorities confirmed.
The shooting unfolded shortly after midnight at a residence in the 2300 block of Willow Vale Drive in Harford County, where an estimated 100 people had gathered. Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find what they described as “a chaotic scene” — a large crowd, panic, and two gunshot victims in urgent need of medical attention.
A 34-year-old man was discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby trauma center, where he remains in critical condition. A 23-year-old man, also struck by gunfire, was rushed to the hospital by fellow partygoers — but he did not survive. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random. Authorities believe the gunman and both victims were all attendees of the same party, suggesting the violence erupted from a conflict within the group — not an outside attack.
Despite the large number of people present, no arrests have been announced. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is now urging anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who has any information about what led to the violence, to come forward immediately.
With over 100 potential witnesses present that night, detectives believe someone knows exactly what happened — and why.
