Police in Rincon Seek Masked Man After Veteran Robbed at Gunpoint, Car Stolen

RINCON, Ga. — Police in Rincon are asking for the public’s help identifying a masked suspect after a military veteran was robbed at gunpoint outside his home and had his vehicle stolen.

According to the Rincon Police Department, the incident happened Thursday when the victim was returning home to his family. Investigators say two suspects approached the man at his front door and confronted him with weapons.

Police said the suspects demanded the victim’s wallet, phone, and car keys while pointing firearms at him. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with their demands. Authorities confirmed that the victim was not physically injured during the robbery.

Investigators said the suspects were armed with a semiautomatic handgun and a rifle. After taking the victim’s belongings, the two men fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The stolen car has not yet been recovered.

Police released video footage connected to the investigation and are focusing on identifying one of the suspects. According to investigators, the suspect on the left side of the video briefly pulls down his mask, exposing his face. Police are asking anyone who recognizes this individual to come forward.

Authorities said the second suspect shown in the video has already been identified, and arrest warrants have been issued in that case. Police have not released additional details about that suspect at this time.

The Rincon Police Department continues to investigate and is working to locate the remaining suspect and recover the stolen vehicle. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage and following up on tips from the community.
