The Options in Education Program

The Options in Education Program

The Options in Education program is a lot different than you think! When people think of Options, they automatically think of bad things, but that isn’t the case. At first, I was a little nervous. I thought the same thing other people think. It is nothing like that at all!  When I think of Options, I think of a very helpful workspace. I go out there to get my work done, and if I need any help, I can get it from teachers. You can have your own little area to work on things, and you don’t have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to. The people out there are very lovely and welcoming. It is very nice inside; there are places to sit everywhere. There is a kitchen where you can make your lunch and breakfast. There is also a room to exercise and a room work on whatever you want, like painting, using the Cricut, and woodwork. I really like the big bean bag chairs, so I sit in them every day. It feels like sitting at home and working on your work with a bit of help from the teachers. The teachers push you to get your work done but you also have a lot of freedom. You can take breaks throughout the day, which is really nice. Every Friday, if it’s nice outside, we go down to the park and eat our lunch. I asked some of the students what they liked about options, and they said, “We love everything about it.” Another student said, “It’s a very comfortable and an easy space to work in.” All the students really enjoy it at Options, and it provides a great learning opportunity in a comfortable setting.
