MP High School Musical: The Drowsy Chaperone.

Every year the Mineral Point High School Musical Theatre program puts on a yearly show. Often, this is a community favorite and something everyone looks forward to watching. This year, our high school is showing “The Drowsy Chaperone” on December 9-11th. Be sure to grab some tickets in the MPHS office or buy them at the MP Opera House doors as the cast, crew, and directors all urge you to come to watch the show that we have all worked tirelessly to perfect.

This musical-inside-a-musical is not only adorable but also comedic as the “Man in the Chair” (played by Taitin Rielly) has many unforgettable jokes and smart comments throughout the show. Other highlights include Adolpho (played by Oliver Benson) and The Drowsy Chaperone (played by Gena Byrnes) and their seriously sassy tango; Kitty (played by Lila Thousand), Feldzig (played by Anthony Luu), and the Gangster gals (played by Libby Dunn and Julianna Cool) with their amazing surprises; and lastly Robert Martin (played by Marcus Cool) stumbling on stage in roller skates only to run into Janet Van De Graff (played by Sophia Stephenson) with a french accent gone terribly wrong.

We hope you can join us to watch these memorable moments on stage at the Mineral Point Opera House. Show times include a Thursday middle school performance at 9 am. Then the show opens for the public with performances on Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 7 pm, and a matinee performance Sunday at 1:30.

Good luck to all performers for the rest of this busy musical season!
