Mineral Point High School introduced many new members to their staff group this school year. One of them is Ryne Ponsler. Mr. Ponsler is teaching Spanish 1-4 in the high school. Mr. Ponsler is a very easy-flowing guy who likes to incorporate new and fun ways to help students learn such as using games to bring interest into the topic. He uses a reward system that allows students to keep focused while still having fun. I asked Mr. Ponsler a few questions. Here’s what I got back.
Mr. Ponsler has been teaching foreign language for 11 years, and Mineral Point is the third school he has taught at. He first taught at River Valley High School, then transferred to Darlington High School. Mr. Ponsler likes to cook in his free time and spend his time reading. Family is significant to Mr. Ponsler. Currently, he is teaching his two young children to be fluent in Spanish. Mr. Ponsler enjoys traveling; his favorite place he’s been to is Costa Rica. He has been there eight different times! He stated his favorite part was the hot springs flowing from the Arenal Volcano. Mr. Ponsler is a very interesting guy, and I thoroughly enjoy being in his classroom because of how enjoyable it is to learn.
