Pickleball Club
We all know about the pickleball experiences in gym class. Including the quiz at the end of the unit. It didn’t seem that fun at the time, but a few students are trying to make that change.
These students have been practicing outside of school and learning about the rules of pickleball. They want to bring more people together to play and learn about the game. Pickleball has become one of their biggest passions. Students involved in the making of this club are Preston Lease, Charlie DaVee, Finn Renwick, Nolen Fox, James Webb, and Cole Hentrich. Dr. Aaron Dunn is their coach and helper.
Club Coach Aaron Dunn said, “I’m excited to be part of this new pickleball community. I don’t see myself as an expert in the sport, but I know the rules and technique enough to help others and teach them to play at their best and try something new.”
Mineral Point Junior/Club Captain Preston Lease said, “I always noticed pickleball was a sport very little people recognized. My friends and I realized it was something we should try. We fell in love with the game and decided to make it a club so more people could enjoy the sport. I am hoping that once our team gets the ropes of things, we can host tournaments at Soldiers Park and just have fun.”
They welcome everyone to join this club. There is no sign up, so if you are interested in joining this club, just contact a current member and let them know you’re interested.
