DALLAS, TX – Four people were hospitalized Thursday evening after a vehicle drove into a crowd of pedestrians in a busy section of Dallas.
Emergency Response on West Davis Street
Dallas police officers rushed to the 300 block of West Davis Street around 7:00 p.m. following an urgent “Assist Officer” call requesting emergency medical services.
Upon arrival, first responders found multiple injured individuals. At least four victims were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities confirmed that, fortunately, none of the injured individuals are in critical condition.
Driver Arrested at the Scene
The driver of the vehicle was immediately taken into custody by officers at the scene. Detectives are currently working to determine the exact cause of the crash. Investigators are looking into two primary possibilities:
- Whether the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence (DWI).
- Whether the incident was triggered by a sudden medical episode.
Dallas police explicitly stated that there is no indication that the crash was terrorism-related.
Investigation Ongoing
The area remained active for several hours as traffic investigators and crime scene technicians gathered evidence. The identity of the driver and the victims has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
