Chicago Field Trip

In March the Spanish 4 and Art classes took a trip to Chicago to visit the Chicago Art Institute. Students boarded the bus at 7:45 to start their journey to Chicago. After arriving at the Institute at 11:00, rules were set. Students were able to roam Michigan Ave. for a few hours to eat, shop, and experience city life. Students were extremely excited to see the annual dying of the Chicago River when the city dyes the water green for St. Patrick’s Day. About 2:00 everyone met back at the Chicago Art Institute. The Spanish 4 students had to find three different works of a Spanish artist inside the museum which they had presented on a few days before during their Spanish course. This made the visit more interesting and fun. The students also had the opportunity to see a few important artists’ works like Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Alma Thomas, Edgar Hopper, Henri Matisse, Grant Wood, Marc Chagall, Claude Monet. Around 4:00 it was time to take the bus home. The group was back in Mineral Point at 7:35.
