EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA – A brutal confrontation in East Hollywood left one man dead Thursday night after he was attacked with a hammer. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has launched a homicide investigation and is currently searching for the suspect.
The Fatal Confrontation
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Willow Brook and Virgil avenues. LAPD officers arrived at the scene following reports of a physical fight between two men. Upon arrival, they discovered one of the men had been struck multiple times with a hammer.
Despite emergency medical efforts, the victim was pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Suspect Description and Escape
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large. Police have provided the following description to help the public identify the individual:
- Description: A male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds.
- Last Seen Wearing: A white tank top and blue jeans.
- Vehicle: The suspect was seen leaving the area in an older model truck.

As of late Thursday night, detectives were still processing the scene for evidence. It remains unclear what sparked the initial fight or if the two men knew each other prior to the attack.
