The Pointer JV team fell once again to Black Hawk/Warren on Thursday by a score of 40-30. It was a fairly even first half as it was 22-16 Black Hawk/Warren at halftime. However, Black Hawk/Warren did not mess around as they came out of the half on fire. They forced fumbles early and capitalized right away. The Pointers then saw themselves in a deep hole down 40-16, but the Pointers punched back right away as quarterback Eli Lindsey connected with wide receiver Tremaine Jones for a 40-yard touchdown to get them right back in the game. The Pointers would get another touchdown in the early fourth quarter as Eli Lindsey connected with Gibsen Sporle on this one. The Pointers failed to get the two-point conversion which kept it at a two-possession game. The Pointers then failed to get anything going after defensive end Alan James recovered a fumble late in the fourth. The Pointers have fallen to 2-2 and their next game will be against the Cubans at home next Monday.
