Pointer Volleyball Bounces Back

The Pointer volleyball team traveled down to Southwestern last night. The JVR played and lost to the Wildcats 19-25 in the first set. The girls then won an exciting second set with a score of 25-14. They then fell short of the Wildcats with a score of 13-15. Then our Pointer JV team played the Wildcats in three winning sets. The score of their matches were 25-13, 25-22, and 15-10. Finally, varsity got a chance to play the Wildcats. The Pointers dominated the first set 25-13 and then proceeded to win the second set 25-18. The Pointers then were victorious in the last set, with the score being 25-19. The stat leaders for last night’s game were: 

  • Kills: Kennedy Wenger -7, Kennedy Kabat -7
  • Assists: Mallory Lindsey – 25
  • Aces: MacKenzie Ripp – 5
  • Blocks: Blair Watters – 4, Kennedy Kabat – 3
  • Digs: Ella Chambers – 10, Mallory Lindsey – 6

Senior Mallory Lindsey quoted, “This was a great bounce-back for the team. We really took a step in the right direction, and we are excited to keep pushing forward and improving!” The Volleyball girls take on the Riverdale Chieftains at home on Thursday, September 16. JV is set to play at 5:45 with varsity to follow, no JVR game. Thursday’s night’s theme is Cowboy; show your support!
