The Mineral Point varsity football team won a muddy battle over the Fennimore Golden Eagles, bringing them a win away from clinching a playoff spot. In the first quarter, Bodie Bossert got the scoring going for the Pointers with a big pass play from Joah Filardo for 50 yards. After that, Dominick McVay took the game over with four total touchdowns, including a kick return for a touchdown right out of halftime. The Pointers didn’t hold back in the second half and got the running clock going toward the end of the third quarter. The Pointers won the game 41-6. Next week, on Senior Night, the Pointers look to defeat the Belleville Wildcats and secure a playoff bid.
